NARRATIVE TEXT
DEFINITION
Narrative text is a type of text in English that tells about a fictional
story.
PURPOSE
The goal is to entertain the readers with the stories presented.

GENERIC STRUCTURE
1. Orientation
Orientation is the initial part of the text that contains an
introduction to the character, place, and time of the story. There are no
conflicts or problems in this section, so there are only introductions.
Orientation is usually indicated by the words: once upon a time, one day, a
long time ago, etc.
2. Complications
The next part is complication, which is the problem in the story.
Complications usually consist of several paragraphs that tell the beginning of
the problem to the culmination of the problem. In this section, the
characterizations of the characters, both the protagonist and the antagonist,
have begun to appear.
3. Resolution
The last part is the resolution, which is the resolution of the problems
in the story. In this section, there will be a happy ending or a sad ending. In
addition, in the resolution there is also a moral message (moral value) that
can be gleaned by the readers.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded that narrative text is a text that contains stories
(fiction / non fiction / fairy tales / folklore / fairy tales / myths / epics)
and a plot consisting of the climax of the story (complications) followed by a
resolution.
