Throwing Garbage In The River
In this era of globalization, it seems that the activities of littering, for example in rivers, seem to have become commonplace. However, it can have a negative impact on the environment. More and more people are littering in the city. This resulted in the flow of several rivers being blocked by the garbage. So that when it rains with continuous intensity, the river will overflow and cause a flood disaster.
From year to year the number of people who litter in rivers continues to increase, this is the conclusion of many observers. Even the Indonesian Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Susi Pudjiastuti, revealed that Indonesia is the second largest contributor of waste in the world. With details of plastic waste dumped in the sea can reach 9 tons in weight per year.
Humans still haven't given up on throwing garbage in rivers that can cause flooding because of human behavior itself. For example, the flood in South Jakarta one year ago was caused by a lot of garbage clogging the sewers. Even though the victims due to the flood disaster are certainly not small. Not only the injured, there were also many who died due to the flood. However, these things are still not enough to raise awareness for people who are still littering or in the river.
After knowing the impact that has occurred because of their own actions, people should be aware not to litter anymore. So as not to harm yourself, others and the environment. If there is no garbage in the river, then the river water will not be clogged and flooding can be minimized even though heavy rain continues to hit.
